Connor's 1st Dental Visit

It was finally time for the dentist to get a handle on Connor's teeth.  It was fitting that it was snowing in late March on our way to the dentist during this winter.  There was no accumulation but the polar bear shirts were fitting.

He was very happy to locate Dr. Seuss books along with a train table in the waiting area but was ready to go first.

Connor's hygienist, Cathy, did so well with explaining everything and answering ALL of his questions.

The sunglasses added to the whole look.

The lollipop helped eased him at the end as did the promise of a frappucino.

Cathy and Dr. Neel confirmed that we need to give Connor's gums a lot of attention because of how crooked his teeth are and to avoid further issues.  We were so not ready to hear how much work that we had to do to maintain his teeth.  But, we will take care of it and get his gums in a better place than where they are right now.

Jackson's 1st Dental Visit

We realized that it was time to get the boys in to the dentist. At the recommendation of several people, we scheduled an appointment with Dr. Neel at Cross Key Pediatrics.

Jackson immediately warmed up to his hygienist and was flashing the biggest smile.  It started with the sunglasses.

And, apparently being able to watch the process through a mirror is the best way to handle a teeth cleaning.

His hygienist said that she made his day!!! It definitely makes you feel as though you are doing something right as a parent when you hear those things from others.

Final examination from Dr. Neel with a thumbs up and instruction for the next appointment in 6 months.

N3s celebration of the mischieveous leprechaun

The boys' St. Patrick's Day celebration was delayed due to weather on the actual day so the celebration was moved until today.

They learned about how mischievous the leprechauns are and actually caught a few with the traps that the teachers had helped them set out.  St. Patrick's Day crafts were made and the boys were given pots of gold with chocolate coins.

Connor was modeling his necklace with fruit loops and bookmarks.

Sporting their Crocs at the pool

The Friday night prior to their swim lesson, we took the boys to the mall to gets some crocs to make getting dressed after swim lessons a lot easier.  It is so hard to get socks and shoes on damp feet.  C

Connor is generally very hesitant about new shoes so we were concerned about him but he was obsessed with the pink ones at the store. It took a bit of convincing that the navy were a good idea since they would match with more of their bathing suits.

The Crocs debuted at swim lesson and the boys were so good with them.  Definitely looking forward to some help at the pool in the forest with big boys that can help put on their own shoes.

The love for a little lady named Brooke

Both boys have a definite adoration for Brooke, who was in their class at Dulaney Day School. Brooke is definitely a go getter with a dynamic personality similar to Jackson.  We've been able to catch up with her at bounce places and the pool at the Y, which has made both boys very happy to get extra time with her.

Connor has had a crush on Brooke for months and probably has be in "love" with her possibly since meeting her.  It is borderline obsessive and could possibly be described as "stalker" behavior.

One of the girls that lives down the street from us has been friends with Broke since birth as their moms worked together.   One day this spring, Connor had a compromise with Addy over being friends with Brooke.  He relayed to her that he understood that she loved her as a friend but explained his love as well. He ended the conversation by letting him know that they can both lover her.

Of course with love, there are ups and downs.  After picking up a dejected Connor from school, I asked him about his day.  It apparently wasn't a good day as we had the following discussion, which also led to him not being able to take his nap :

1.  Brook blew him off
2.  Brooke doesn't play with him
3.  Connor wants her to stop being friends with the girls

Jackson has showed an interest in Brooke as well but Connor has informed him that  he can not love her because he didn't give her a "proper" card for Valentine's day.

Connor blushes when asked about certain girls (especially the blondes) in his class and gets very shy when watching romance scenes on any of his shoes or movies.

Hopefully, they can patch up their relationship as I don't want Connor having sleepless nights.

Swim Lessons at the Y : Spring Session 1

We enrolled the boys in swim lessons at the Y so that when it came time for our pool to open up around Memorial Day -- we would be ready.  The boys did so well after the swim lessons with Allie at the Mount Washington Swim Club that we wanted to just get a jump on the water fun.

The boys met their swim teacher and introduced themselves.

They were given backpack floaties and Connor wasn't so comfortable with his device.

A ton of emotions from smiles to

the neck clutch out of fear for being asked to do ANYTHING out of his comfort zone

AND, back to smiles.

And on the opposite side of the spectrum is Jackson who was almost swimming away from his teacher.  Never dull with these boys....

Space Jam at My Gym for Connor

Space Jam at My Gym for Jackson

Celebrating Mary Elizabeth's birthday Frozen style at My Gym

Apparently, in the world of 4 year olds, March 8th was the busiest day of the year. The boys received invites to 3 different parties that all started at the same time and there were all at least 30 minutes apart from one another.  We opted to attend the first party that we were invited to and the boys confirmed that it was their pick regardless of date of invite.

Mary Elizabeth along with every young girl is obsessed with Frozen and My Gym did a great job with Frozen inspired games.

The Birthday Girl!!

Playing pin the tail on Olaf.

Heading through the obstacle course before the splash mat.

Getting instruction before they get the groove on.

Shaking his bootay...

We had such a fun time celebrating the birthday girl.

modeling Janie and Jack's latest accesories

The boys LOVE going to the mall and after getting a frappucino and pretzel, their next request is to go to the shirt store, Janie and Jack.

As I was shopping the boys were checking out some of the accessories from the girls' side. Jackson put together this lovely ensemble....

And, Connor decided to try it on too!  While Connor was trying this on, Jackson was off to check out his other hat options and to peruse his favorite section, the tights.

I'm not sure that these pinks match but I'll leave that to the girl moms.

He is something else!!

Sports Mix : Soccer Take 2

We arrived at Sports Mix and were excited to see that it was soccer again.

Working on dribbling.

They both did a good job of listening to Coach Katie's Instructions.

Trapping with sass.

Connor struggles with coordination so this is a really big deal for him. Opening his eyes may of helped...
