Union Brewing Oyfest

It was a windy and slightly chilly day and took us awhile to get organized but we decided to go to the Union Oyster Festival and see what it was all about.  Upon arriving, the boys were mesmerized by the lines, music and oyster shuckers.

We had grabbed some beer and walked around to watch the shuckers.  While the boys were listening to the music, I got in line for baby sized oysters.  The band took a break and the boys got a front row seat for the shucking.

Connor was even willing to help pick the oysters that he though should be shucked next.

Connor asked if he could try an oyster.  We were both so happy that his adventurous streak with food continued. He loves shrimp and crab and although he didn't like the cocktail sauce, he was a fan of plain oysters.

If the line hadn't been so long, we would have gotten more.  We picked the shortest line without recognizing that the oysters were baby sized but next time we know to get there early. The grilled oysters smelled amazing!!

There wasn't a chance of him trying an oyster as experimenting with food is way outside his comfort limit (read: he struggles with chicken tenders if he doesn't like the way the crust loos) but he willingly posed for a picture so we will take it.
