Fightin Phils' Opening Day

We had hoped that the weather would change and were still hopeful that the Fightin Phils opening day wouldn't be a rain out despite the drizzle on the walk over.

Once we arrived, the rain started to lighten.  As we were waiting for our turn to take pictures, we found the Oriole Bird.  The Bird is a favorite for ALL of the boys in my house and apparently most of the Fightin Phils.

We finally found Chase and Connor found his pal from Kindergarten, John Henry.

Before their picture, the Fightin Phils huddled up.  As there was still time to wait for our pictures (apparently they were running behind or we just got there too early), the kids had lots of fun running around and trying to catch balls getting thrown by older kids.

Towson Rec Councils' 2016 Reading Fightin Phils!!!

Connor was super happy to get a solo picture with the Bird.

Before the opening ceremony started, the Towson Tiger made an appearance.

We are looking forward to a great season as the boys develop their baseball skills with the help of coaches, Phil, Rob and Alex.

Building a Bird House at Lowe's

With the threat of serious rain on Saturday, which would have definitely canceled the Fightin Phils' practice, we registered the boys for the build and grow at Lowe's.  TRC canceled all access to the fields so we were off to Lowe's after a lot of cheerleading on my part.  Apparently, the message of no baseball said let's sit and relax to the boys.  But, I'm glad that I won the battle and despite us getting there late, we had the best time.

Lowe's handed out aprons, goggles and tools.  Nothing cuter than our 6 year olds getting ready to build some bird houses with the appropriate safety gear.

We followed the directions and tried our best to get the boys involved as much as possible. While there, several of the other parents said that their children became better and better at building with each workshop.  Once baseball is over, we will be able to sign up again.

Jackson was my building partner and he was doing a great job helping hand me supplies and hammer things in.

Once the birdhouse was built, it was time for the stickers. Jackson, obviously thought that laying on top of the lumber was the best way to go.

Our builders with their finished projects. We are not going to put bird seed in as we don't want to attract any unwanted animals with food but we can all hope that it won't be another holder for the Star Wars figures (lucky thinking).

Celebrating Maggie at Stoneleigh Lanes

Jackson received the invite to Maggie's party and was super excited because it was Star Wars themed.  Ever since he and Connor watched the movies and read the books, he has been OVER THE TOP obsessed with Star Wars.  He must have read and re read the invitation 50 times.

Daddy stayed home with Connor and we picked up Mary Elizabeth, her mom and Pete, who was staying with Mary for the weekend.

The bowling alley was full of decorations that included paper masks, an amazing BB8 cake but most importantly a TON of kids that were very excited to get their hands on a coveted bowling ball. Luckily, the hosts provided adult beverages so that the parents could relax as the chaos unfolded.

Jackson had a lot of fun posing with the Stormtrooper and all of his friends.

With his fellow banana, Maggie D.

Singing Happy Birthday to the birthday girl and waiting for the amazing BB8 cake to be cut.  It was really good. Thankfully, Jackson passed and I was able to indulge.

As the other kids enjoyed cake and other treats, Jackson was able to take advantage of a shortened line and get his face painted.

Happy 6th Birthday Maggie B.  It was a great party from a galaxy far far away.
