Week 21 of 52 in 2024

Jackson:  It’s been busy with both True and DMS lacrosse and Jackson has been given even more opportunities to support the Towson High team with Grant and Connor.  He was able to join the players in the locker room after games and even traveled to the State championship game.  At some point, Towson can beat Severna Park.  It is such a great experience for him.

Connor: With DMS, the teen league and umpiring, Connor spends most of his time on baseball field.  Thankfully, he enjoys the game and earning money is a nice plus.  He’s set on getting Beats with his money, which we hope he won’t loose like he has all other electronic items gifted to him.

Jackson and Connor: The timing worked out and we were off to Philadelphia on Saturday for sone semifinal lacrosse being played at Lincoln Financial Field.  Jackson was excited to root for the Terps and Connor was pulling for  the Cavaliers.  Nobody in our great really cared about the first game except wanting Denver to take out Notre Dame to make it easier on UMD or UVA.  The Terps dominated UVA from start to finish with the defense starting with Brett Makar shutting down Shellengergr and making Cormier look non-existent.  Chelsea Dagger played 12 times and the celebration got even better after each score.

Notre Dame made easy work with Denver.  They’ve been dominant this lacrosse season.  There’s just too much offense on the team even if you stop the Kavanaugh brothers.

Family: I got the call around 6:30ish from Michael that he had been involved in an accident.  He was on his way home from work and was driving on Osler and Angel, a TU student, was exiting the parking garage and ignored the flashing red.  They collided and he was lucky enough to walk away despite not being able to open the driver’s side door.  He had some mild pain in his chest and stomach from the seatbelt and the airbag being deployed.  Angel didn’t even bother to check on him.  She was on her phone the entire time and stayed on the opposite of the street.

Week 20 of 52 in 2024

Jackson: Dumbarton was playing against Beth Tfiloh and tallied a goal.  He lucked out with his Hoco game with True dominating early on and Jackson was given some chances at midfield.  He took full opportunity and scored 2 goals.

Connor:  The Angels are having a great season in the Teen League.  Connor’s been getting time on the mount and at 3rd base.  He’s making contact at the plate and will eventually get that elusive hit.

Jackson and Connor: In anticipation of joining the developmental golf team at Towson, the boys have been spending time (when they have a break, which has typically been on Fridays and/or Sundays) at Mount Pleasant with friends.

Week 19 of 52 in 2024

Jackson: If it’s May, there’s going to be lots of lacrosse.  The big matchup of the week was against Cockeysville.  The Lions secured a win but it was close at the end.  The defense did just enough to secure the victory.

Jackson’s last Hoco season is well under way and True is playing well and is at the top of the table.

Connor: It was DMS’ last game of the season against Loyola.  They took the loss but we got team photos for the slide show.  Connor saw the field more than last year but that was often as a result of him having to leave early if he has a game to umpire.  Whatever it takes to get on the field and we won’t miss the Coach’s preference for the players from the Towsontowne team.

Family: We had tickets for the Orioles game on Saturday and were happy the sports schedules aligned for us to get back to OPACY.  The offense was slow on both sides but the Os tied it up in the bottom of the 8th got a walkoff from Jordan Westburg in the bottom of the 11th.  Os win.  Watching the bird wave the flag is on of our favorite sights.

Week 18 of 52 in 2024

Jackson: Tyler was not feeling well so it was up to Jackson to step in at goal.  He did well since he hasn’t been in goal for about a year.  DMS lost but our goalie stopped everything he should have.  The Calvert offense was just better with multiple kids from FCA and other elite teams.  Next up was a rivalry game against Ridgley at Towson High.  Despite getting a good bit of playing time throughout the season, our #9 struggled to get on the field  but was still able to celebrate the victory.

Connor: Another week on the baseball field with Connor for DMS.
