Breakfast with Santa at Kenilworth

We had heard good things about the Kenilworth breakfast with Santa.  There were several other things on our list for the holiday season, but we are so happy that we were able to work this in.

When we arrived, we found Santa walking around but the trains are still the biggest draw at Kenilworth.  It's going to be a sad day when the boys aren't interested in the trains. While the boys checked out the trains, we were able to secure a table and wait in line for breakfast.

We were also able to get a picture with Santa without paying too much and waiting in a really long line.

There was definitely a lot of train watching.

After breakfast, there was a magic show that wasn't very much magic but the kids didn't seem to mind at all.  Jackson rushed the stage because he though this guy was absolutely hysterical!!

Fire and Ice

We decided to go to Towson for their Fire and Ice event.  It was described as a hide and seek of ice sculptures with random stops for s'mores.  Upon arrival, we immediately spotted the ice sculptures.

Connor was obsessed with the Kona penguin and he didn't want to walk away even after I got a picture.  They were donating proceeds to Make A Wish.  We opted to make a donation in lieu of an ice treat on a cold night.

After spotting Frosty, we found a fire pit for s'mores.

Jackson doesn't hesitate when it comes to new adventures assuming that you do not ask him to eat anything that he doesn't know.  Before we knew it, Jackson had a skewer and a marshmallow and was in the fire pit.  Connor joined in.  Lucky for us,  Jackson donated his marshmallows for our s'mores.  He likes all of the components of s'mores but won't eat them together.  Maybe, one day... If not, we will always take him up on his offer to roast the marshmallows.

After the s'mores, we were off to find more ice sculptures and ran into the Greene Turtle's Turtle, who was more than happy to pose for a picture.

We were ready for dinner and were trying to figure out where when the boys spotted the Grinch and Frosty and the last ice sculpture, Santa Claus.

After we had dinner, Jackson was more than happy to help us with dessert as he spotted another Fire Pit in front of CVP.   It was a fun night  We will definitely have to try again next year.

Picking our Tree at Davidson Tree Farm

We decided that it was finally time to try a tree farm again and keep our artificial up in the attic.  The issues over the years with the lights really took a toll.  We also knew how excited the boys would be try again at a real tree farm and pick out a tree.

Davidson Tree Farms was our destination and it did not disappoint.  Trees, Trees, Trees and more trees. There were trees as far as we could see in every direction.

The initial grouping of pre-cut trees almost had us sold but we decided to snap some photos and keep on looking.

We decided on a blue spruce and it took awhile to get to them but the view was amazing. It was a beautiful day for wandering around the tree farm to find the perfect tree.

We found our tree and Michael borrowed a saw to start the hard work.  He said it was similar to a cardio workout. Lucky for him, Jackson and Connor were eager to help.

After the tree was down, all of the boys carried it to be shaken and baled.

Seriously, so many trees.

It had warmed up from when we first arrived and jackets were off as we moved up in line to pay.

We were able to find someone to help us that was way better than us at securing a tree. Bonus, he was good the boys and it made it ALL the way home and we didn't have to worry about it falling off the car.  We will definitely go back to Davidson next year.

Fells Point Old Thyme Christmas

We hadn't been to Fells Point Olde Thyme Christmas in a couple of years but since the weather was kind of cooperating, we decided to go down for the boat parade

The boys found Santa Claus and Mr. Boh.

We had some time before the parade was going to start and the boys were enamored with a puppet show.  The puppets were named Punch and Judy and lots of the jokes were over their head but the boys still thought it was hilarious.

Jackson was flirting with the ladies on this boat and he was so close to getting an invite. Alas, it didn't work but we were able to find a great spot on the Broadway Pier.

The Natty Boh boat cruised by us to join the parade of boats.

Some of our favorites.

We were all happy to see Charlie Brown and Snoopy and the Grinch.

We were all happy to see Charlie Brown and Snoopy and the Grinch.

There were more boats but they were really hard to photography.  Some of our favorites included a Star Wars theme and the 80s party had people skiing.  It was such a fun night and we look forward to going again next year.
