Week 13 of 52 in 2020
Jackson and Connor: We are still waiting for a directive from BCPS on what is going to happen with distance learning and whether or not the boys will be returning to school. We've kept busy with learning about famous women during Women's History month and finishing up the extra match pages from their Envision math books. They are so "thrilled" to do more addition and subtraction, ha!! Their principal suggested a spirit week schedule and we happily obliged with PJ day (this wasn't hard because we are spending a lot of time in pajamas lately) and Red White and Blue day.
Jackson: Jackson had his first Zoom with his KP Club lacrosse team. He had the best time seeing his buddies. We are going to start setting these up with some friends from school.
On Friday, we needed a couple of items for our dinner and the Michael and Jackson voluntarily decided to bike over to Eddie's. It was such a nice treat and super helpful. And, another win because they had some dad/son bonding time. We just need Connor to give in and try to ride a bike so he can join them. Eventually, he we will realize that it's more fun to be part of the group than the potential to fall.
Connor: The boys aren't big fans of art but we've recently discovered Mo Willem's lunch doodles. Jackson is meh about it but Connor has been enjoying himself. One of my favorites from this week:

Week 12 of 52 in 2020
Jackson and Connor: The boys are supposed to be digitally learning but BCPS has been slow on the uptake so we've had some time on our hands. We took a lot of walks and with the weather warming up, the boys were able to get their bikes out.

Week 11 of 52 in 2020
Jackson and Connor: On our walk home, we ran into Everett and Steven. It's so nice that we are so close that we are able to walk home and find friends on the way. This was the last photo that I took before school was initially shut down out of concern for COVID 19. We are anxiously waiting for BCPS to make a decision for how long.

Week 10 of 52 in 2020
Jackson: We had won tickets to see a Loyola Greyounds lacrosse game and were planning on going to the Duke game. The last time that we saw a game at Ridley, it was Duke and we got to meet one of their defenseman's parents. He's one of the best defenders in the country. His KP club team coordinated that the rest of the team would be going as well. He finally got to rep his Kelly Post jersey.
Connor: Benny has been getting weekly sleep overs with his grandparents, who live 2 doors away. Jackson must have been at lacrosse practice on this day so our 4 year old buddy pitched in. He was running near the ball but it was so great that the 10 year olds let him join in the fun.

Week 9 of 52 in 2020
Jackson: We decided to head out to WhiteTail after Saturday morning lax practice for the weekend as we were finally able to figure out a way to do 2 consecutive days on the mountain with only missing 1 lacrosse practice. Jackson was a little hesitant about being without Connor and Michael but we had the best time. There were ups and downs and we were able to secure what ended up being a private lesson on both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday started off a little rough after all the sitting in the car and the early wake up for lacrosse. We
had an early lunch and talked things out and I convinced him to do a lesson, which I knew he really needed. By the end of his lesson on Saturday, he had figured out how to stop and turning and was done with the greens. As Jackson gets better, mom has to step up her game and may need to take a lesson to help give her the confidence.
After a couple of easy runs at Jackson's insistence, we tried a lift that lead to harder slopes that were green/blue (the next step). We picked wrong and he struggled (I barely made it). After another early lunch and pep talk (clearly, skiing is tiring), I convinced him to do another lesson. By the end of the lesson, he was able to go down another trail off the harder lift without issue. We are excited for our next trip to the mountain.
It was a great weekend and so nice to be able to spend one on one time with Jackson.
