Week 22 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor:  On a typical Memorial Day, we would be at the pool listening to a band or having friends over for a cookout.  Since the pool wasn't open, we opted for a family cookout. The boys were excited to see our neighbor, Michael, out on his bike so they joined him for an alley ride.

Connor:  The contractors were finally finished and we were super excited to get our basement back. Up next, getting furniture and bedding for Connor's room.

Week 21 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor:  The boys have started to look much more grown up and it wasn't just the hair. On one of our walks this week,  I asked them to stop in front of the red doors at RFES.

Jackson:  He had been talking to kids after homeroom meets and inviting them to a Kahoot quiz. After receiving multiple texts from some other moms, we were finally able to set up a Zoom lunch with a quiz.  The quiz was completely full of Jackson's opinions and he was telling the kids that their answer was no..  We need to work on fact based quizzes in the future. He was in his element being in charge of the Zoom.

Connor: He had a major fall while riding his bike on Saturday. He was so upset and the fall was at the top of the court. There were tears and middle schoolers staring at him and I knew how bad it must've hurt. We had to take turns carrying him to the house because there was no way that he was willing to stand. The neighbors heard the commotion and were kind enough to give us a whole new box of bandaids to help.  Connor recovered quickly and handled the placement of bandaids so well for him.  We took a walk on Sunday to show him that he could still do it!!

Week 20 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor:  With everyone working remotely from home, including Michael, our dining room has turned into a work zone. Oh how so much has changed since school closed.  I'm guessing that "hello, this is Michael" was taking a call outside.

On one of our many walks!!!

The boys were invited over to the Stevenson/Brandon alley for a water gun fight. They had a blast and the parents were good getting hit in the crossfire. It's getting really really warm!!!

Connor: I was out for a walk and spotted the Kona Ice truck. Was able to coordinate with the boys to meet me and it was a good chance for Michael to get Connor out for some more bike riding. He's doing so much better with his turns and has started to figure things out. He walked up most of the hill on Old Trail but is getting so much better. I'm so happy that he was willing to see the fun in riding a bike.

Jackson and Connor. It was the week to celebrate birthdays. The boys were invited to celebrate Claire and we decided to surprise Jackson.

And on my 10th Mother's Day, I got treated to a trip to the fields and showed the boys that mom ALWAYS hits for power.

Week 18 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor: The boys hadn't been in the car since the first week after their school closed. We made a quick trip to the grocery store in anticipation of what became insanity. It was a nice drive out to Inverness and Jackson almost got car sick. They were hugging because they were finally out of the car... We need to try to get them out more.

Connor: It was a big week for our buddy!! He started off scooting around as normal but decided to change his mind about bike riding on Friday and on his own terms, agreed to try Claire's old bike. It was the perfect size for him to figure it out and by Friday afternoon, he had figured it out. By Sunday, he was all smiles as he had something to put into the bike shed.
