Week 26 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor: We have finally reached the end of virtual 4th grade. It's been a long couple of months. We've learned some new things especially about famous women during women's history month and printed more paper than what we ever thought we needed. So happy that it's finally over. Let's get this summer started.

The Zoo had figure out it's safety protocols and opened up. We picked our time and were off to check in on the animals.  It was a nice day and we were able to spend a good bit of time seeing how the animals had been since the early spring.  The best part was seeing how much the new baby chimp had grown.  Connor and I could have spent hours watching but Jackson reeled us in.

Jackson: He's an avid reader and when caught in a good book like Belle, he can't put it down.  I had picked out this book for him and he was adamant that he would not be interested at all.  Was able to convince him to read a couple chapters and within an hour of two at the pool (no less), it was finished. He was not able to put it down and wouldn't even get into the pool until it was done.

Week 25 of 52 in 2020

As school is winding down, we let loose one day and opted for virtual school in pajamas. Looks comfortable to me.

We've all been reading lots and lots of books, which may or may not lead to cuddling on the couch.

Now that the pool is opened, we were able to make it there during the week with minimal crowds and pass their deep end test.

Week 24 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor: We FINALLY picked up our game of Monopoly and it was intense.  The boys knocked me out and Connor was able to recoup the properties I had for 1% of their value since I couldn't pay his rent in full. Eventually, Michael got knocked out but Jackson, who looked to be out in the very beginning, ended up claiming victory. Who knew that hotels on Mediterranean and Baltic could do you in..... Now, we know! This is the property that the boys were controlling. It was only a matter of time before we all went down.

The boys were invited  to ride bikes with the Snyder's. It was such a good way for the boys to celebrate Father's Day. Greg was able to show the boy's new routes to get around. It's so much more fun that just riding in the alleys. And, the best thing was that Connor was able to keep up.

Week 23 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor:  It was way past time for a haircut and mom and dad weren't getting any better with the clippers.  We booked appointments with Steven at Hairway to Steven and all the boys were able to get their hair done.

We welcomed back the high fade and hard part! He wasn't so happy about the clip but his hair looked so good after.

We attended a rally on York Road for Justice for George Floyd.  It was our first and hopefully not last. The boys were very eager to see the group of protesters and chanted "No Justice, No Peace" along with "Black Lives Matter." There has been a lot of tough parenting in recent weeks and we want to have an open dialogue with them about social issues and make sure they understand that they are so lucky to be who they are.  The event ended with kneeling for 8:46 and we all realized how uncomfortable that is unless you are kneeling on someone else.

Connor: I had recently found an Instagram account that was dedicated to the everyday activity of 3 goldendoodles and a 6 month old. Connor is NOT and I do mean NOT in all caps a dog person but he and I are smitten with how cute these dogs are.  When we went out for a late walk, we found one that lives super close.  This is Molly's dog, Abby, and we hope to find her around the neighborhood soon. He willingly pet her!!! We are in no way getting a dog but can admire from afar.
