Week 48 of 52 in 2020

Jackson - He won the election and is now serving as President of the SGA for Rodgers Forge Elementary School.  Here he is in action for his first virtual meeting.  And, dad helped our news crew reporter with another segment on catching a football.

Connor -  Connor won his race and is the recording secretary of the SGA for Rodgers Forge Elementary School.

Due to Covid restriction we opted to stay home and make a turkey and of course sweet potato pies. The boys helped contribute making dinner.  We will manage eating both pies without any help despite missing our family.

Exploring Gettysburg

It was what we thought to be mild Saturday in November and with our history obsessed Jackson, we decided to take a trip up to Jackson to explore all that Gettysburg had to offer.

We arrived around lunchtime and despite the burgers being delicious, it was so cold outside and there were complaints before we even arrived to the visitor center.  Despite the rumblings, we continued and linked up to the audio tour and had a lovely drive through the battlefields in Gettysburg learning more about the Civil War than Connor and I ever need and I took a history class all about the Civil War in college.

We didn’t make it all the way to the end of the audio tour (super close) but were met with a beautiful sunset and decided to consider it a victory and maybe the boys will listen to mom when making decisions on how to get dressed in late November.

Week 47 of 52 in 2020

Jackson - he’s always had the pieces but has recently decided to put them together. We call this the birth of Jackson’s admittance into the Buena Vista Social Club.

Connor - Only during a pandemic would students be learning how to play an instrument virtually.  Connor has been practicing and was able to share some Hot Cross Buns.

Family - it was a nice enough day to get what could be our last day at the Zoo.  This time, Michael could enjoy the flamingos and we didn’t have to share photos or videos.  Regardless of his affinity for the flamingos, the baby chimps are the best.

Week 46 of 52 in 2020

After the excitement of the final decision on Biden winning the election and the boys’ Celtic team winning the championship, it was a slow week that apparently didn’t have me motivated enough to change out our flowers.  The pandemic continues to roll on.

We did have a visitor to our front porch that wasn’t looking to exit.  Connor wanted nothing to do with the guest.  He/she eventually left.

Week 45 of 52 in 2020

Jackson and Connor: It was a busy week (yet again) for the boys.  We started off Monday with finally getting the boys in to a new dentist, Kids First Pediatric Dentistry.  They had appointments when COVID started shutting everything down and we opted to switch practices.  Dr. Bowden found a tooth in Connor's mouth that needed a filling so I'm happy that we were finally able to get him in to the dentist.  Connor wasn't happy about the switching of dentist because he's not big on change but mainly because of the filling.  Overall, it was a great experience.

Our RFES Today crew reporter had to do a segment on 10 spots in the Forge to go during COVID. First up was some footage at the fields.

After a lot of late nights and CONSTANT following of the election results, the race was FINALLY called for Joe Biden.  Our entire house was very happy!!!  Because of Jackson's news crew segment, we ended up over by Beck's house and there was some Proseco and a pizza party.  After returning to our side, there was some more celebrating!

After a tough semi final game against Manchester City (two overtime periods AND penalty kicks), the boys had their 3rd and final matchup with Borussia Dortmund.  They didn't win as soundly as their last game against them but they did dominate from the start of the game.  So happy for our defender that is tremendous at throw-ins (Connor) and our left footed midfielder that is willing to pass instead of trying to score.  Congrats TRC U12 Champions.

Week 44 of 52 in 2020

Jackson:  This boys likes his sleep.  Connor sleeps on the top bunk and often wakes Jackson up when he descends in the morning for his wake up pee.  It's nice that on certain days, Jackson can ignore the descent down the ladder.

Jackson had a scrimmage against KP 2029 on Friday night and the moon was showing off on the way out of Meadowwod.

Connor: It was Connor's turn to show off his halloween pajamas.  Now that we've decided to keep the rocker/glider (Jackson likes to use it when having virtual school), we can recreate some collages from their toddler years.

Jackson and Connor: Just another day and some boys beside my own on a walk. Same topic; different day.

The Davis' invited us over for Halloween.  With everything going on with COVID and the boys not really worrying about picking out a costume, we were IN.  Their boys didn't miss the idea of dressing up either.  We promised the boys candy and they had some too. It was a cold but fun night. The boys played, watched a movie, we had pizza and kept warm by the bonfire. It was a perfect way to celebrate the holiday.
