The boys are still very enamored with their barnyard animals, specifically the spotted cow, and since we couldn't find a horse that we liked, it was a no-brainer to get them both the same costume and add a sign. For the past couple of months, the boys have been enjoying weekly visits to the Chick.
They split the 4 count nugget meal and I get their drink and we swap out the toy/book for an ice cream that we can share. Michael was adamant that if we were going to do cows -- that we had to be the Chick Fil A cows and have a sign to Eat Mor Chikin. The commercials are so funny that I immediately agreed.
the sign makes the ensemble. there were other cows but none with a dad holding an Eat Mor Chikin sign...
our family of four!

Helping keep the house clean one crumb at a time
Maybe we can blame this on the random snow in October (yes October) but I was able to catch Connor placing food on the ground that I had left out for him to eat so he could use his dirt devil to clean it up. Unfortunately for the snack, Connor couldn't let it just wait for the vacuum that he scooped it up to eat it. These boys will never stop amazing me...
always willing to help out with his dirt devil..

Halloween decorations and a new friend, the Ghoooost
Prior to the boys' arrival, I had some holiday decorations but realized that since it is not about Michael or I any more, we needed to step things up and try to maintain some level of tact. But, when your toddler who has a limited vocabulary learns very quickly how to say Ghooooost, all bets are off.
And, the attempts on maintaining no tacky decoration are fully out the window when they realize that they can be staged on their alphabet train or fire truck ride-on because that is just how a toddler thinks and who are we to tell him that it is wrong.
or, if they need to carry all of them.
or, if they are wiling to admire them for a second in their costume.
and, sometimes they need a hug!?! or pull of the horns.
they knew the difference between Frankenstein and Dracula but they were definitely not said as clearly or with as much enthusiasm/exaggeration as Ghoooost.

Stuck
Connor has been letting us know that he is stuck whenever he feels that he is in a compromising position, including his car seat. I couldn't resist when I saw him.
Yes, I did stop to get our camera and take a picture and leave him in this position. Sometimes, it is o.k. to be stuck for a second or two, right!?!

Apple or pumpkin?!? Don't ask Jackson or Connor

2011 Trip to Weber's Cider Mill Farm
We had a lot of fun at Clark's Elioak Farm but did not pick our pumpkins due to some logistical issues. So, the boys and I met up with their Aunt Gina to go to Weber's.
We enjoyed our 2nd day of hayrides in a row. Jackson needed help getting on this tractor but he enjoyed it all the same. It was so fitting that he had started to say "hay" in the weeks prior.
The large tires were fun to run around and with the boys starting to know their colors, it became a search and find for the boys to find the tires I was asking them to go to.
The boys were naturals in the petting zoo area and were excited to see the turkeys.
They tested the pedal tractors despite the obvious that they were too big for the boys and they took several stumbles. Each boy popped back up and kept on moving.
The slide provided lots of fun and was fast enough without the burlap. Jackson was my riding partner and kept starting the trek back up the rather steep hill. He would have gone back up again and again.
They got the chance to enjoy another tractor ride.
Connor was all smiles in the regular size straw maze. He was following Jackson around and I didn't get to get pictures of him but I could hear his belly laugh so I know he was having fun.
Their favorite spot was probably the duck races. They needed help pumping the water but the best part was watching the ducks float into the tub at the end. Jackson was diving in and ended up with a soaked arm trying to get to the ducks.
We had a great day and I'm so happy that the boys were able to enjoy another trip on the farm. Despite their 2nd trip to the farm and personalized shirts -- the boys are still struggling with the difference between a pumpkin and an apple. If you look at Jackson's mouth, you can see him saying "Aaaapple."

Clark's Elioak Farm 2011 (Part 4 - Pumpkin Pickin/Chuckin)
Last year, we were able to just sit the boys in a tractor with a bunch of pumpkins and it was super calm and easy. Let's just say that we can definitely see what a difference a year makes. Both boys thought of the pumpkins as orange balls that they could throw and roll and spin around. Definitely not the opportunity for pumpkin patch pictures that I expected but you take what you can get. Another classic moment of the day was Connor screaming shoe as he had lost his shoe and was holding it over his head waving for help.
The lost shoe!!!
We opted to leave without a pumpkin and are hopeful that they didn't do too much damage. And, the pics aren't as bad as what I had thought.
