Toddler Made Tast Treats : Sunflower Biscuits

The boys brought home beautiful sunflowers this week.  Jackson added a bumble bee to our art collection.  I was concerned about the biscuits as they have not always been a favorite at our house but the yellow sugary topping was well received.

My favorite part of the treats is the "deep" inspection....

Contemplating on whether or not he will eat anything other than the sugary topping.

Hershey Park Happy in 2013

We arrived a little later than what we had anticipated.  Upon arriving at the Founder's Circle, we moved quick and got the boy on the Helicopters and other fun favorites.

After catching up with Gina, Tony and the rest of the Schmitts, we headed towards Music Box Way for the Bizzy Bees.

And, we moved on to the swings, which are Connor's happy ride.

After the Pirate, the boys and Cayden hopped onto the Dizzy Drums for several spins...

At Mary's suggestion, we moved on to the Sky View.  Connor rode with Gina and Tony.

Despite being in diapers out of concern for their struggles with using potties that are not at home, both boys actually used the potty and waited on each other.

The Dry Gulch Railroad is a very popular ride for my train fans.

We moved along to Minetown and got in line for the Twin Turnpike after finding a note that it was too windy for the Kissing Tower.  The boys were running to find the Hershey Kiss again in front of the Kissing Tower.  Their memories of events never cease to amaze me.  The attempts to get a group picture are comical, at best.

Connor and his passenger moving along the track.

Jackson was a great driver despite the knuckle biting.

After lunch,  the Red Barons were next.

The boys weren't tall enough for the Frog Hopper last year and we weren't sure if they would like the ride at all.  However, we should have never hesitated. They LOVED it and their belly laughs were so loud that it put a smile on most of the onlookers watching their own children.

We wandered over to the Midway area and found some old favorites like the Granny Bugs, Miniature Train and Pony Parade.

After the Midway, we stopped for our last rides, the Livery Stables, a/k/a Carousel and Mini Scrambler. Connor is obsessed with the Carousel and the black horses. They rode the ride multiple times.

On our way out, we ran into the Reese Cup.  Connor wouldn't get near him since he wasn't the chocolate chip and had peanut butter.  We are concerned that Connor has peanut allergies and he told us that the Cup could make him itchy.

A boy and his frap

Connor has a serious obsession with frappucinnos.  I have been putting him off due to the weather and fibbing that the "Coffee House" is closed but with it getting nicer, I was finally ready to indulge.

Immediately upon picking the boys up from school, Connor noticed the cup.  He had a temper tantrum on the ENTIRE ride home because he wanted the cup. There was no calming him down.

He finally assembled himself once we got inside and he started to partake in the caramel goodness.

This is the look when you ask him to share!! Definitely not happening. Oh, and he doesn't want to share with Jackson OR me.

To Infinity and Beyond

The boys have had these pajamas all winter and I have tried numerous times to get them to wear them but our opinionated Connor was always against it.  This night was different and they are just so adorable that I couldn't share the pictures.

Jackson -- our energetic boy who is always up for an adventure picked Buzz Lightyear.  He generally never cares about pajamas so it was a surprise when he actually had an opinion and it suits him so well.

Connor -- our more quiet and reserved with good manners ended up with Woody, but it was the obvious choice for our Connor.   He loves to smile and pose for the camera and always wants to check the picture to see if he looks good!

At the end, there was some hugging that didn't end so kindly but the camera was off.  We will take the sweet hug and forget the fighting.  Connor often takes things too far and we are working on this.

Jackson and his thing for pretzels

The boys and I have been going to the mall on Tuesdays after Stay and Play at the Y.  We check out the construction site on the way in and we almost immediately indulge in a cinnamon sugar pretzels. The boys had a late nap on Sunday and when Jackson woke up, he was BEGGING for a pretzel and to go to the mall.  It was so sweet but unfortunately by the time that we got around to moving -- the mall was closed.

So, as a special favor to Jackson, I headed to the mall to make it up to him. He was SOO happy that he could barely contain himself when he saw the bag in the car.

It is kind of "our" treat together since Connor is indifferent about the pretzels other than licking the cinnamon and sugar off.  Jackson could devour an entire pretzel in 10 minutes. He is seriously a man on a mission. I am SOOOO happy that he likes them because I do too and I do not want to go and get one just for myself.  Definitely happy to share the carbs.

Understandling toddler park talk

We love to go to Locust Point Park and try to plan ahead to be down there as early as possible so the boys get in enough time with all of the different areas.  Today, we had planned to go to Locust Point Park and once we started driving in that direction, Jackson threw an ALL OUT temper tantrum screaming something about blue slides, which we know understand but didn't at the time.

There are several parks in the area and we have figured out that the park with the blue slides is next to the middle school.   On that day, he could not explain to us that is where it was BUT was adamant that I was driving the wrong way!!

We ended up at the Tot Lot, which is a great option and later spent some time with Mary Elizabeth in her backyard.  I'm happy we figured out where the blue slides were.  It's definitely a different language when trying to understand toddler speak.

Connor is happiest on the swings.  He could care less about the slides or the climbing apparatus.  As long as there is a swing -- he is good.  The park with the blue slides does not have swings so you have a happy Jackson but an unhappy Connor....  The joys of twins that are interested in completely different things.

Jackson kept on moving back and forth between these rocker type animals.  Animals are always entertaining.

Ulimate Play Zone Fun

The boys LOVE going to the Ultimate Play Zone but going out for an extended period of time with a boy that is trying to potty train is iffy and we hadn't been in awhile. The boys were so excited when we arrived and despite going to the potty around 5 times before we left and yes, Jackson did go each time, we had a great time.

The steps to the larger slides on both sides is either a hit or a miss for the boys. Often times, they want me to join them or flat out refuse. I consistently "push" them to go beyond their comfort zone at that moment since I know they really like the slides.

This is Connor's I can't go up the steps with you mama face :(  Oh, this kid and his facial expressions and inability to not blow everything out of proportion.

And, this is the all-smiles after he got his way and I went up and down the slide with him face.

And, sprite (our new nickname for Jackson) just jumps and jumps and keeps moving like the energizer bunny.

And, instead of using the steps, let's just climb up to the top of the slide.
