Making Apple Cider at Crowell Valley Park

Once we finished up with the corn, the kids entered the cider mill to learn about apples and make some apple cider.

The guide provided us with a history of the building and the importance of it being made of wood for protection.

Listening to the guides about apples and the many things that apples are used to make.

Mrs. Beach secured Jackson.  They appear to cuddle a lot.

Checking out the cider press.

Each child was allowed to drop an apple into the press and turn the wheel to make the cider.

Connor working the wheel.

After we were finished, we ventured outside so that the class could try their cider fresh off the press.  Jackson was not able to try the cider but Connor finished all of his cup.   He is full of adventure with basically anything except for food.
