If I close the gate, I can't climb the steps...

Connor has shown absolutely no interest in climbing the stairs and I leave the gate open expecting it to be shut when I get back from taking Jackson up first for their nap.

Well, today, Connor showed some initiative and I'm not sure exactly what happened but he was at the bottom of the steps and items that were out of reach on the steps were laying beside him. He was in tears so I don't know if he is going to try again but I'll be closing the gate from now on.

If you can't read Jackson's shirt -- it says "I Rule the Universe." So true!!
