That There is a $145 Tree that only took us 2 1/2 hours to find right around the corner

We were a little late to get our tree and had hopes of getting one at a nice tree farm in Northern Baltimore County.   So, we ventured out to Upperco and went to not one but two tree farms.  The first one had no pre-cut trees but did offer a tractor ride out to locate the tree and return with it but it was the customer's responsibility for mounting the tree to your car.  Off we went to the second tree farm and this was a little more rustic with options of a sled and tools to cut down the tree.  We are generally up for an adventure but it was muddy and the boys didn't have the proper shoes to be working their way through the tree farm in search of the Great Tree.

Next up was a place in Baldwin which had pre cut trees. However, on the drive in, 2 rather large pony sized dogs were marking their territory in between the trees that were set up on display.  We exited the car in  hopes of locating a tree.

Connor had different thoughts when he realized we were going to have to get relatively close to the dogs.  He confirmed that he was a hot mess and couldn't take it.  There were serious tears streaming down his face and with his inability to pull it together, we decided to leave.

After almost 2 hours in to this venture, we opted to go to a place that was less than 2 minutes drive from our house.  We did get a first hand view at a lot of cows and horses on our trip so we can't consider it a complete waste....

Jackson immediately went off to explore the available trees.

And, he tried some of the snow.

So many options.

Connor narrowed his search to this tree.

We discussed that it was a beautiful tree but not the right size.  After we got to an understanding, which isn't always easy with him, Connor asked for a picture with his tree and he agreed to check out the one that Michael had picked.

Jackson was having so much fun playing hide and seek with the trees.

The tree was selected and the men helped do some trimming as the boys oversaw their work.  It was at this point when we were advised that the tree was $145.  Obviously, we could have gotten a better deal but we had already invested 2 1/2 hours.

And, how can you say No to that little face who just wanted a tree.   Maybe, we should have stuck with Connor's pick!?!

It's ours and we are taking it home.

After eating lunch, Jackson and Connor kept an eye on Michael as he brought in the tree.

Apparently, $145 gets you an incredibly heavy tree.

It was beautiful once set up and lasted for a couple of hours after the boys woke up from their nap.  Somehow, Jackson was able to topple the tree.  Still not sure how he was able to do this as it took 3 adults to get the tree back in the stand.  But, it was definitely an adventure that we ALL will never forget.
