After scanning our tickets, we immediately ran into Teddy Roosevelt. He moved too quickly for us to be able to get a picture with him but it was definitely a sight.
Lots of items to see and read at the Stadium. We couldn't resist this quote from Cal since he had such an amazing career in Baltimore. Besides the game at Nationals Park, we also have another baseball outing planned for Ripken Stadium later in the summer.
The seats were great - very close to the field. Unfortunately, we were about 10 rows too close to the field and too far from the overhang. And, we all started to melt. The timing of the game coupled with the drive to get there led to a hungry and hot family (not just the boys). We bought ice cream and extra cold drinks but there was no break from the sun.
We didn't do enough research about the events at the park but we were lucky enough to make it to the 4th inning to see the Presidential Race. Clearly, Abe Lincoln had a commanding lead and never let it up.
Connor sizing himself up agains Max Scherzer, who started the game, and Strasburg.
After the Presidential race, we took the boys to the play area. There was a long wait in the sun and we were never able to regroup enough to make it further than the 6th inning. We will have to try again when the boys are a little older.
Some more of the sights, including Bryce Harper after his amazing performance in the All Star game and Scherzer getting pulled early. It was apparently not Scherzer or our day at the Park.
