Privateeer Festival

We arrived at Fells around lunch time and to the tune of the marching revelers.  The boys were fascinated by the drumming and followed them along with the crowds.

After the drumming stopped, the boys spotted the macaws that were definitely making a lot of noise.

Before deciding that food was required immediately, we walked over to the Urban Pirates boat, the Fearless.  Jackson was definitely letting us know that he was an angry and hungry pirate!!

After having a good lunch at Kooper's, we walked to the Broadway pier.  Knowing that it was a pirate festival, both boys grabbed their pirate gear.

We checked out the visiting ships and the tents that were full of information including a passport to collect stickers.

There was buried treasure that the boys and a bunch of new friends helped find in the water and haul aboard the boat.  The buried treasure was heavy and the kids needed to help them pull it out of the water.

They shared some of the booty with their helpers, including flags and mardi gras beads.  It was a fun day in Fells celebrating the Pirates.
