Jackson and Connor {3 Years Old - Birthday Singing}

Jackson and Connor {3 Years Old - Pizza and Cupcakes}

We invited our family and Mary Elizabeth and her mom over for a party.  We had pizza and cupcakes as this is apparently the only criterion for the boys, including, Jackson, despite his not wanting to eat pizza.

Patiently waiting for their cupcakes....

After singing, they actually ate some this time. Well, at least the icing.

It is an absolute blessing that we have had these boys for 3 years.  There are times that are hard and times when it is harder and there are amazing times that we wish we could bottle and save. The conversation are amazing and their imagination is so creative.  They change so much day after day and are learning so much that we are so happy to be their parents and share in the joys of daily life with Jackson and Connor.

Jackson and Connor {3 Years Old - Bowling, in action}

Jackson and Connor {3 Years Old - Birthday Bowling}

We ventured out to celebrate the boys' birthday with some birthday bowling.  They hadn't been to a bowling alley since Ben's birthday when they were a little over ONE and this year was a bit different.

These little boys with one of them who was walking anywhere and everywhere chasing the big kids

and one who was content sitting on the pool table

have changed a lot since that day.

On this day, they didn't just have to be onlookers.  It was their turn and time to get their shoes on.

Connor does a good job of surveying the scene.

Waiting on the bowling balls.

He was too impatient to wait for the balls on our lane so he took it upon himself to help himself to the ones arriving for the group next to us.  Hopefully, we will learn bowling etiquette but we will save that for another day.

Getting out the guider to help ensure the strikes!!!

Watching and waiting.

Working on it together.

We had so much fun but definitely have a lot to learn in terms of bowling etiquette.  Connor couldn't handle that we had our lane to bowl in and was constantly crowding the bowlers next to us and trying to take their balls and at one point, made the bold move of rolling a ball down their lane.  We will work on their ability to share and not interfere with other people's games.

Family Christmas

After the boys woke up from their nap, we joined the rest of our family at Gina and Tony's.  We were the last ones to arrive so the gift opening commenced almost immediately.

Crafts are a big thing for Connor.

A new laptop for toddlers...

Shiny puzzles with Mickey, Buzz and Woody and Friends.

Digging in and getting everything opened up.

Knuckle biting and drawing with Sophia.

Working matches with Uncle Joe and Uncle Tony.

Some new plush to cuddle, Trixie and Simba.

Christmas Morning

 The boys woke up at their normal time despite the excitement of Santa's arrival.

We inspected what Santa had left for us while indulging in cookies and reading his notes.  Apparently, Santa like the cookies and milk and the reindeer enjoyed their carrots.

The stockings were full of fun items, including a new Bullseye, as sharing is just not a good thing....

The construction vehicles were inspected as well as the WordWorld blocks and accompanying DVD.

There were new CDs and books.  Books with a marker that they can write in were very popular.

On to the shopping cart and more food for their kitchen.

And, they ended indulging in some more cookies and checking out their new GeoTrax buildings.

12 Days of Mistletoe Mischief

Since we decided to do 12 days of Mistletoe, most of the days involved Mischief.

On day 1, Mistletoe was staring outside wondering what he had gotten himself into.  Day 2 had him helping himself to a cup a coffee as the boys had a bad listening day AND he was up with Santa extra late trying to figure out what to do.  On Day 3, we were heading out to Hershey Park for Candy Lane Christmas so he figured out that he could take a ride or two on their choo choo train.

Day 4 may have been Connor's favorite of them all when Mistletoe laid a trail of Hershey Kisses after our day in Hershey guiding them to him hanging out in our dining room light fixture.  On Day 5, Mistletoe was slightly hard to find in the tree with his candy cane.   Mistletoe decided to do some fishing for goldfish on Day 6,  which was another favorite.

On Day 7, Mistletoe enjoyed a marshmallow bubble bath near the door since he likes the cool air.  Another hard to find spot was hanging on the door on Day 8 (another late night taking to Santa about some not so great listening).  Mistletoe was tired of waiting for us to get our act together and made the boys some Mickey cookies on Day 9.  They relate cookies to the timer so it was only fitting that he was keeping a close eye on the oven.

Keeping up with his penchant for hanging upside down, Mistletoe set up a zipline in the bathroom on Day 10.  On Day 11, he was reading to all of the Snowmen from the Snowmen at Night book.  Sadly on Day 12, Mistletoe left us a note confirming what we knew all along and that it was time for him to go back to  and I quote from Connor "go back to the North Pole to help all the other elves and Santa get ready for Christmas.

Overall, the boys had a great time with their Elf and we are definitely going to be able to do more next year.  They did fairly well with the not touching especially after their Dad understood how he could loose his magic...

We will be looking for him to return maybe a little earlier for some more fun.  Good Bye Mistletoe and tell Santa that Jackson and Connor said Hi!

Night before Christmas

After locating our Star, which just happens to be a snowflake (no judging as we have been on a serious search), it was time for placement on the tree.  The boys have been obsessed with the idea of a Christmas star after seeing a Word World holiday special.  I have been looking and looking and couldn't find anything that was more traditional so this will have to do this year.

Connor provided some direction to Michael on the placement.

Our Christmas "star."

After the star was placed, we loaded up Santa's plate with cookies that the boys helped make and carrots for the 8 reindeer that were on their way from the North Pole.  Special delivery for the big guy!

We also left a letter for Santa that included a note to Mistletoe who had left for the North Pole during the boys' nap to help the other elves get ready to help deliver the toys.

Santa's note:

We followed up in our tradition from the prior year of having a basket of books to open each day in December related to Christmas. We added some new ones including Llama Llama and Duck and Goose.

And, this month, we kept up with our countdown to Christmas.

Before lights out, it was Jackson's turn with a cookie in one hand to open the the last book - "Twas the Night before Christmas."

As Michael read the book, Connor was sharing cookies with his penguin.

And, a look back to Christmas' past.

                                                           1st Christmas in  2010

Besides being able to see the Chick Fil A cow dressed up like Santa, it snowed, which guaranteed a White Christmas.
