Night before Christmas

After locating our Star, which just happens to be a snowflake (no judging as we have been on a serious search), it was time for placement on the tree.  The boys have been obsessed with the idea of a Christmas star after seeing a Word World holiday special.  I have been looking and looking and couldn't find anything that was more traditional so this will have to do this year.

Connor provided some direction to Michael on the placement.

Our Christmas "star."

After the star was placed, we loaded up Santa's plate with cookies that the boys helped make and carrots for the 8 reindeer that were on their way from the North Pole.  Special delivery for the big guy!

We also left a letter for Santa that included a note to Mistletoe who had left for the North Pole during the boys' nap to help the other elves get ready to help deliver the toys.

Santa's note:

We followed up in our tradition from the prior year of having a basket of books to open each day in December related to Christmas. We added some new ones including Llama Llama and Duck and Goose.

And, this month, we kept up with our countdown to Christmas.

Before lights out, it was Jackson's turn with a cookie in one hand to open the the last book - "Twas the Night before Christmas."

As Michael read the book, Connor was sharing cookies with his penguin.

And, a look back to Christmas' past.

Besides being able to see the Chick Fil A cow dressed up like Santa, it snowed, which guaranteed a White Christmas.
