2012 Visit With Santa

Despite the snot that had invaded our house, we knew we still had to get the boys in for a visit with Santa.  It had been a rough couple of weeks relative to the big guy.  Until they watched the Polar Express and we read several books about Santa (thank you Mickey Saves Santa), the boys thought that they didn't need to talk to him and that and I quote "dada can buy us all of our presents on our list."  They also didn't think they needed a list and that Michael and I could relay everything that they wanted to Santa.  We decided on a list that included choo choo trains, books, puzzles, new games and animals.  This may or may not have been encouraged by our actual shopping but they don't need to know.

Incredibly skeptical.

There was a long wait and we spent some time in Learning How after the boys perused the train garden.   They enjoyed pushing the Thomas Trains around and helped me realize that I am a total boy mom since I was so out of my league trying to dress the Calico Critters mice family.

And, right, as we were ready to take our turn, Santa needed a potty break. This gave the boys a chance to observe his set up.

He came back.

Waiting for the couple of people in front of us that also had to wait out the potty break.  Connor insisted that we could have a picnic on the floor while we waited.  He has been so sweet lately.

There, of course, was drama....

Santa's face is classic....

And, we have a winner!!! Three out of the four of us smiling was as good as it gets. Connor appears to be in shock over the idea that we were still there. How dare we??? Jackson did manage to tell/yell at Santa that he wanted choo choo trains after jumping off of his lap.
