Spring Meadow Farms

After missing out on the sleigh ride in Fells Point, I was on a mission search to find a way to make it up to the boys.   I recognize that this was probably more for me than the boys but they were so excited about the idea that I didn't want them to miss out.  We needed a tree and despite having an artificial one upstairs, I convinced Michael to go with a real tree and the idea of combining both events was ideal.

Enter -- Spring Meadow Farms.  They had fresh cut trees so Michael got his wish of not having to chop down the tree himself with the kids running around and we were able to get them on a horse drawn sleigh ride.

We had to make a reservation with the horses and they were ready and waiting for us.  The boy were sooooo excited once they spotted the horses.  They climbed up into the sleigh

The horses took us on a path by fresh cut trees, animals in their mini zoo, some tire swings and pedal tractors.

This wasn't us but it is the same horse drawn sleigh....

Connor was so happy to be with Michael in the sleigh.

After the sleigh ride ended, the boys walked the path to get to the mini zoo and checked out the animals.  Connor was particularly concerned with the water fowl.

Off to the hay and leftover corn, which was obviously picked over and kind of disgusting but boys will be boys.

On to the pedal tractors and tire swings for more fun.

And, after some coercing, we finally had them near the trees to help select the right one to bring home.  Selecting the right obviously involves lots of running around, playing hide and seek and giving Michael a mini heart attack when he thought he lost Connor for a couple of seconds.  Somebody realized what was going on and offered him assistance. Note: I was trying to get Jackson off the tire swing. Connor has a huge tendency to run out into the street, which wasn't that far away so I am super thankful for the fellow tree searcher.

Sometimes, I can ask Connor to stop and smile. But, Jackson, forget about it!  And, if you try to chase him, he thinks that it is a game and hides more.

And, back to chasing each other around the trees. I guess that they figured out that Michael and I would be the ones that would decide anyway.

We were off after the tree was secured onto the roof of the car.  The little helpers hung on to the rope.  This bit of help didn't win out in the long run as we had to pull off of 795 and take an alternative route and another alternative route after Greenspring Avenue was shut down because of a fallen tree. Irony, I think not. After a scenic trip through Mount Washington, we arrived home an hour plus after we started, which was almost double the time it should have taken BUT we had a tree and got to take a horse drawn sleigh ride.
